Jonquil Park Reopening! September 26th 12-3pm
After nearly five years of planning, advocating, meetings, fundraising, and persistence, the second phase of our capital improvements at Jonquil Park is complete—and it's time to celebrate! Come enjoy the beautiful new grass, upgraded playground soft surfacing, new lighting inside the park, and improved parkway lighting surrounding it. We'll have live music, children's games and activities, family fun, and plenty of opportunities to simply enjoy the park together.
Since we missed our traditional Family FunFest this spring, we're bringing many of those same elements into this celebration. Think Family FunFest meets park dedication—with a little extra neighborhood love. These improvements belong to all of us, and after so many years of work, we can't think of a better way to mark the occasion than having the community fill the park and enjoy them.
After we wrap up our final summer event with Jonquil's celebration, we invite the community out to Supera Park for subsequent fall festivities! We want to thank Lincoln Park's very own Lakeshore Sport & Fitness for partnering up with us to bring you all a season of autumn fun at beloved Supera at the corner of Racine & Lill Avenue. Tell your neighbors, bring your friends, and come out with your creative spark for all kinds of social games and sweet treats to celebrate the spooky season with us! 
At a community meeting on September 10th, we had the pleasure of meeting with 32nd Ward Alderman Scott Waguespack regarding much needed Wrightwood Park improvements. Earlier this year, WAPAC submitted our Letter of Intent to the Chicago Park District outlining the improvements we hope to bring to the park. It covers some very practical, immediate needs as well as our larger long-term goal of bringing a brand new fieldhouse to the park. The Chicago Park District has launched a Participatory Budgeting Process and is currently collecting ideas for park improvements across the city. Thank you to all who filled out the questionnaire and park survey. Stay tuned for updates!
