Welcome To Our Community
There are new changes at your local parks for 2026! Jonquil, Supera and Wrightwood Park are now all managed by the Wrightwood Area Parks Advisory Council (WAPAC).
We are a team dedicated to transforming our local parks into vibrant, welcoming spaces that serve as the heart of our neighborhood. We believe that well-maintained green spaces are more than just scenery; they are essential hubs for connection, recreation and shared memories. By prioritizing the revitalization of these areas, our mission is to keep fostering a sense of community for the public.

Jonquil Park Reopening!
After weathering the recent storms, Jonquil Park has officially reopened! The new grass has taken root beautifully, and the park is looking greener every day. WAPAC is already working on plans for a fun community reopening celebration later this summer, so stay tuned.
One issue that has already been brought to our attention by many neighbors is dogs being off leash in the park. Unfortunately, we've already seen damage to some of the newly established grass from digging and running.
As a reminder, dogs are required to be leashed in Chicago parks. This isn't just a park rule—it's city law. Off-leash dogs can create safety concerns for other park users, other pets, and the park itself. The Chicago Police Department has advised residents to report violations when they occur, as enforcement depends on complaints and reports from the community - CALL 911
Let's all do our part to help protect the investment we've made in this beautiful neighborhood space so it can continue to thrive for everyone. Thank you!
We host many events, festivals and community meetings throughout the year.
Check out what we have coming up!
